The Baltimore Orioles were based in Baltimore Mdand are in the Eastern division American League. The owner is an attorney Peter Angelos. 
The Orioles began in 1894 with the league was reorganized. The Orioles are amongst one of the oldest teams and were there when the majors declared themselves in 1901. after one season as a major league club they moved to St. Louis and renamed themselves the Browns. They were very competitive in early 1920s and contented born I get enough to catch stronger teams such as the Yankees in the Senators and in the 1940s the so-called war years they finally hit pay dirt. Owner Bill Veeck considered moving his franchise in 1951 inhabit candidates to relocate in 1941. in 1944 during the war St. Louis-based American League team won the penant but lost in 1944 World Series 4-2 against the Cardinals. In 1953 there were relocated and immediately took on the nicknamed the Orioles a name that stuck with them until now. 

The Orioles took about 6 years to become very competetive. In 1966 the acquired slugging outfielder Frank Robinson and went on to become the most valuable player. The farm system started to produce quality players an coaches who helped in there successful team structure. They won three world series titles in 1966, 1970 and 1983 and league pennants. Then the infamous name “Weaver Ball” defined by the Oriole trifecta of pitching, defense, and the three home run. 

In 1981 Cal ripken jr the son of former Oriole player and manager Cal Ripken Sr his father. In 1991 in marked the last year for short stop Cal Ripken Jr. The Orioles started playing baseball in their new stadium at Camden Yards. In 1993 Peter Angelos bought the Baltimore Orioles which returned to local owners.

Beginning with the 2003 season will be a very controversial year for orioles history. They ended up coming up short for the year with on the field controversy. Then came the controversy of steroids with Rafael Palmeiro who collected his 3000 th hit that same year.
