In 1902 the Cincinatti Reds built the palace of the fans with an extravagant façade and opera style boxes lining the front the rows. In 1934 the stadium was Crosley Field for the Cincinnati Reds. By the late 1960’s the Cincinnati reds were eager to to jump on the multi purpose stadium band wagon. Their new home was riverfront stadium a publically financed concrete bowl. Some of the greates moments for the Cincinatti reds ball club came in 1909 showed off his new stadium with an exhibition of night baseball.
So economical were the Cincinatti Reds in 1976 World Series sweep of the Yankees that only nine players came to bat that season during the four games.

In 1982 when reliever Jim Kern was traded to the Cincinatti Reds in the deal for George Foster he refused to shave his beard. At that time facial hair was in violation of the teams rigid dress code, so he was immediately traded to the White Sox. In 1976 world series against New York Dan Driessen became the first National Leagur designated Hitter. On September 16, 1988 Tom Browning from the Cincinatti Reds threw the first perfect game. In 1998 the Reds were able to field the first pairs of brothers on a major league roster squad.
In 2005 you don’t need to be a genius to figure out what went wrong with the Cincinatti Reds. They couldn’t overcome there horrible pitching but there offense was quite good. They finished first in runs, doubles, home runs and slugging percentage. There free agency outlook for 2006 doesn’t look that good as well with no money to spend on free agents.
