Though the Cleveland Indians had used many different stadiums before the turn of the twentieth century the first one was league park built in 1891. Major league baseball returned to league park in 1901 when the upstart American League placed a team in Cleveland. The greatest moment to happen in that park for the Cleveland Indians was Babe Ruth becomes the first player to hit 500 Home Runs. A young fan catches the ball and returns it to Babe in exchange for $20 an autographed baseball and a chance to sit in the dugout during the next game. In April 4, 1994 they moved into jacobs field home of the Cleveland Indians. In 1997 in the ALCS was a pitching duel between Mike Mussina and orel Hershiser. Mike mussina strikes out 15 but Hershisers Cleveland Indians win 2-1 in the twelfth when Marquis Grissom scores on a botched squeeze play.

In 1916 the Cleveland Indians were the first team to ever where numbers on their uniforms. Also, a Cleveland Indians outfielder by the name of Jack Graney was the first to go from the diamond to the broadcast booth upon his retirement. On April 16, 1929 Earl Averill became the first AL Hitter to clout a home run in his first major league at bat. Cleveland Indians player Larry Littleton went hitless in 23 at bats for the Indians in 1981 tying the major league record for most at batswithout getting a hit.
By the year 2004 the Indians were becoming a powerhouse in the league with power in the middle and speed up top. This was never more obvious when the killed the Yankees 22-0 tying the Major League record for the most lopsided beating in baseball. In 2005 they went further then anybody expected. Their attempt to run down the champion white sox came up short. Neverthe less, the Indians record of 93-69 marked a 13 game improvement from 2004.
