Mile High Stadium was home to the Colorado Rockies From 1993-1994. A great moment came when the first home run was recorded on April 9 1993. Eric Young leading off the bottom of the first hit one out and they went on to win 11-4 against Montreal. In 1995 a new stadium opens up for the Colorado Rockies and on Sept 17 1996 in a wild consequence in a high altitude stadium like the coors field experience. Hideo Nomo of the Dodgers pitches the first recorded no hitter at Coors Field.
The mid 90’s belonged to the Colorado Rockies when you are talking about numbers.in 1996 Andres Galarraga led the league with Home Runs with 47 plus 150 rbi’s. Second baseman Eric Young also gave the team a dash of speed with 53 stole bases. In 1997 the big story was Larry Walker who took MVP honors for leading the major leagues in total bases, slugging percentage, and extra base hits for the Rockies. In 1998 Walker collected the first of three batting titles and Dante Bichette led the league with 218 hits.

With buddy Bell as coach in 2000 the rockies bounced back and was over a .500 ball club. There was no dramatic improvement in 2003, Wilson ended up leading the league with 141 rbi’s and Helton came within a point of winning another batting title. The 2004 year for the Colorado Rockies is not worth talking about with 95 losses which tied it expansion year.
The 2005 year was a struggle but showed promise. It ended up with the Rockies battling on the final weekend to avoid the worst record in baseball history. Broke in by the bulk of a new line up the 2006 year should be a promising one for the Colorado Rockies.
